Job hunting is a job itself; trust me, I know. You can spend over 8 hours of your day looking and researching. Make sure not to burn yourself out!
● Don’t put all your eggs in one basket — I’ve learned this the hard way.
I was at the 7th stage of the interview, and I thought I would get the job.
A few days later, I got the dreaded phone call; they went with the other candidate.
I had invested a lot of time, travel time, energy, research, and resources to get to this stage, and BAM 💥 just like it was over after a month of interviewing.
Until you get that contract and sign it, nothing is for sure.
The interview process could take at least a month or more! Continue applying to jobs, making connections, and interviewing.
Make an excel spreadsheet of companies you applied to track where things stand/not apply twice. Company name, date applied, applied through. date rejected, phone interview, notes
Depending on your industry, LinkedIn and Glassdoor are the best places to look for jobs. 𝙏𝙪𝙧𝙣 𝙤𝙣 𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 for job titles you’re looking for so that you get notified immediately when the job is posted.
Do NOT be ashamed about using the open-to-work banner - it helps recruiters know you’re actively looking for a job. 😃
Scream it from the rooftops that you’re looking for a job - if you can. I know you may not be able to publicly tell everyone on the internet that you’re looking because you don’t want your current place of work to know — tell your friends, cousins, and the local taxi driver, and announce it at Shabbat dinners (you get my drift 😊) Word of mouth will help just as much!
If you can 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞, do it!
Below are some examples helpful tags for your post. Feel free to use these or different ones, depending on what you're looking for. I would also recommend to tag your occupation. Example if you were an #ExecutiveAssistant or #ElectricalEngineer.
